We did a house exchange with a couple from the island of Bermuda in 2008. It was the only way to stay at this expensive tourist destination in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. It was worth it. We had a wonderful week walking and taking the bus around the island, taking in the sights and going to pink sand beaches. We lived in a farm house with a pool, in the middle of the island. My wife used to visit the island with her millionaire grandfather - so for her it was special.
