I was a tango dancer of sorts. I learned at the Academy of Tango on St Lawrence Boulevard with Santiago. There I met many challenges, including having two left feet. But I endured and persevered. I had a wonderful young partner from Toronto; a student who was biracial. I didn’t do her any good.
Once I felt I danced well, at a milonga, with an Argentinian woman..
But most of all I remember meetingMariana Dragone
She is the most extraordinary dancer, teacher and person I have ever met. We traveled to Argentina in 2004 where she showed us around her city and met her people. We shared a Matté with her. She gave me a lesson but she gave up on me, saying I danced like a truck driver (which is true). But we stayed friends. Here is a picture of her she posted on her face book account. And I took a picture of her and the Tango greats in Buenos Aires.
